Metamorphosis vs. TurboFire

Metamorphosis is a 90-day “at-home workout that is as close to having me as your personal trainer as possible,” promises Anderson. (Sans the $900 monthly fee.) The cardio program is a 30 (or 60 if you double it) dancing program that is not what I would suggest to someone that isn’t a dancer. There is no direction, just Tracy doing different dance steps that you are supposed to follow. If you have a problem with your feet or your knees, there is no information to help you modify any of it.

Next she has the muscle work. She seems to believe that she is the creator of muscle confusion. I can’t think of one of my programs that doesn’t use muscle confusion – including TurboFire. She only uses 3 lb weights because she is focused on doing the reps. She has the same workout routine for ten days, and then you change it up.

She also has a restricted diet plan for you follow. And we all should know by know that restriction doesn’t work. Right? So let’s move on to TurboFire.

Chalene explains every step of the workout. And if you aren’t up to jumping around for 30 minutes, she has Alee there to show you the modifications every step of the way. She mixes it up, and there are a number of cardio programs in her mix including the HIIT workouts that I love to do.

Then there are the Core, Sculpt, Burn, Abs, Lower Body and Upper Body resistance workouts that via the 90 Day program schedule uses muscle confusion to keep your body guessing and to keep you getting the results you need. And using a resistance band you can adjust it all to fit the resistance that is right for you.

Finally, nutrition. Chalene has a Jump Start program for a quick boost to your metabolism, and then you have the nutritional guide to get you through the 90 Day program. It’s a healthy program that would work for anyone.

So you have it… dancing and no direction in any of it, or fun, direction, modifications and results. You decide.

What you doing today?

So I’ve discovered some very interesting things online – maybe because as I have been running my brain is becoming clearer. One of my new favorite websites is GOOP. Even though I am not always so fond of Gwyneth – she delivers a very fun site. I did a workout of Tracy Anderson’s from GOOP and let’s just say that my arse will thank her later. GOOP has a fantastic recipes section (Make). Today, I discovered an incredible Shrimp Baja Taco recipe. Who knew Macrobiotical Gwyneth loves shrimp. You have to check it out. http://www.goop.com/newsletter/86

Now – the workouts can be found in the DO section. You’ll love Tracy Anderson although I am not so sure about her 3lb weight limit so we’ll see what I think later.  You’ll love the post where Gwyneth says she was tired of her “saddlebags and post-pregnancy Shar-Pei-like stomach”… ROFLMAO – see, we all feel this way. It’s just life. But take a bit of time and try the great workout here http://goop.com/newsletter/16/

Much love friends. We’ll see you back here soon.
