I love being a nutritional leader. And as such I feel like you need to know about anything new on the market – that may or may not be in something you are thinking about drinking or eating. I told you all about Fibersol syrup and Fibersol-2 (just corn people … but a new brand of it) Now let me teach you a new ingredient: They say it’s more affordable… but do you know what’s in it? “SolaGrain”. Do you want to know what that is? It’s mostly a filler, and full of corn and soy. SolaGrain is:
Soya protein extract (soy)
Soya protein extract (soy)
Oat fiber
Soya fiber (soy)
Psyllium
Maltodextrin (corn)
Linseed fiber
Beet fiber
Linseed protein
Cellulose
Thickening agent: guar
Emulsifier: Lecithin (soy)
I saw this as a main ingredient in a new protein shake called ProFit by ItWorks. That same drink also contained Sustain-It… again more soy. Do you realize that soy is in everything these days, and it’s changing your body because it’s like estrogen. And the plastics in your environment are like estrogen. Do you really want to save a couple dollars by buying a cheaper product and raise your cancer risk? And soy is very bad for men. Men’s Health says ” The unassuming soybean has silently infiltrated the American diet as what might just be the perfect protein source: It’s cheap and vegetarian, and could even unclog our hearts. But there may be a hidden dark side to soy, one that has the power to undermine everything it means to be male/ Read more at Men’s Health: http://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/soys-negative-effects#ixzz1qKozNLds
I love the ItWorks wraps, but I think that you can’t compare broccoli to oranges. One of these shakes has much more dense super nutrition than the other. The proof is in the ingredients and the fact that even Discovery and Oprah have talked about the amazing superfoods and the extent that Beachbody goes to to get these ingredients for you – well again you can’t compare them. Shakeology is just a better product, and better for you. Make sure you keep these things in mind when shopping. Don’t let yourself buy something that is the pink slime of the protein shake world. My daughter drinks Shakeology (1/2 a scoop) every morning. I HAVE to be okay with what she is putting into her little body. It’s a healthful choice for me, not a monetary one. Drink Shakeology – Health Simplified!
So when you see someone posted the ad below… remember the real comparison and what it means for your health. Be educated.

Read the ingredient lists on any product that you will eat or even just put on your body. Where do the sugars and carbs come from? Are they mostly from a natural fruits? DO you care if you have no sugars, but also get none of the super antioxidant protection for your body at a celular level? One of the reasons I loved the ItWorks wraps was the quality of ingredients. Just like with Beachbody I don’t love every supplement they put out – and I won’t promote every product of theirs because of it. Read, think, buy only the best products for your body. YOU are the key and YOU are what matters. Take care of YOU will you?

McDonald’s Beats Shakeology (sarcasm)
McDonalds beats Shakeology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to let you know that I heard a radio ad that really undermines the price of Shakeology. As you know, the retail price is $4 per serving. For that price, you get 140 calories, 17 grams of protien, prebiotics, adaptogens and other extremely healthy ingredients.
Unfortunately, our nemesis, McDonald’s, has found a way to get to the consumer in a way that we can’t. On the radio, they advertised the two cheeseburger value meal (2 cheeseburgers, medium fries, and a medium Dr. Pepper) for only $3.99. Dang it.
For a penny less than Shakeology, the consumer can go through the drive thru and get a meal that has the following:
Calories – 1190
Fat (g) – 43 grams
Protein (g) – 34 grams
Carbohydrates (g) – 172 grams
Yep, we’ve been beaten by a penny on price. The McDonald’s meal has 1190 calories vs. 140 for Shakeology. The McDonald’s meal is virtually guaranteed to make you more sedentary and gain weight whereas Shakeology has a 30 day money-back guarantee that you’ll see improvements in your health.
Please note all the sarcasm here. The next time someone states that Shakeology is too expensive, please feel free to reference this. It is too expensive by a penny.
********Found this on one of the teambeachbody.com message boards. Couldn’t agree more! YOU are the only one that controls what goes into your body!

How Shakeology is changing the world
I know that for many the face value cost of Shakeology might seem expensive. With the retail pricing the total cost with taxes and shipping brings the cost of a bag to a little over $4 a serving… or $3 a serving as a coach. Maybe you don’t want to become a coach because you don’t want to work on this sort of a business… I know plenty of people like that. Not everyone wants to be a fitness and nutritional coach. But if you think about the cost of this $4 per day, and walk away without giving Shakeology a try you are missing out on so much. Think about all of the things in your life that cost $4 per day that are no where near as healthy or beneficial to your well being. Do you do a cup of Starbucks coffee, a pack of cigarettes, a bagel and cream cheese at your local deli or purchase lunch every day?
Your Shakeology was designed to be a meal replacement shake. I use mine every morning for breakfast, as does my husband. In one month my husband went from drinking 51 oz of coffee every morning – taking most of it in his thermos to work and drinking it even when it was cold and disgusting because he needed the caffeine. But since he has been drinking Shakeology for breakfast, he just doesn’t need it. He may drink one small cup while getting ready before his Shakeology, and that’s it. So, did you know there are over 70 ingredients that go into Shakeology? It’s equivalent to 40 servings of fruits and veggies because of the dense nutrients they use in it. Beachbody feels very strongly about putting the highest quality in their products and delivering them to their customers. From the fitness workout programs to their nutrition supplement line.
Someone who did an experiment and went to the grocery store to purchase individual items and make a Shakeology alternative. This experiment cost him over $480! $4 a serving is looking pretty good right about now. Even if you could get the cost down and made your own, most likely the store bought ingredients are not sourced at the same high standards that Beachbody uses and are heavily processed to increase shelf life. What that means is that much of the “goodness” are cooked and killed before they ever make it into the drink. Shakeology uses the freshest of ingredients.
So with all of that in mind, I want to share this great Coach Call with Darin Olien, Co-Creator of Beachbody. The world is changing. Farms are expanding. People are getting healthier. From Peru to Indonesia, Shakeology® “Ingredient Hunter” Darin Olien has seen the effect of Shakeology firsthand. On this call, Darin recaps his recent voyage, dissects the ingredients, and gives an emotional testimony about what’s really inside the bag.

Yacon Root
The YACON is a perennial plant grown in the Andes for its crisp, sweet-tasting tuberous root. The texture and flavor have been described as a cross between a fresh apple and watermelon which is why it is sometimes referred to as the apple of the earth. The root is composed mostly of water and fructo-oligosaccharides. It has recently been introduced into farmer’s markets and natural food stores in the US.
Although sometimes confused with jicama, YACON is actually a close relative of the sunflower and Jerusalem artichoke. The plants produce two types of roots: propagation roots and storage roots. Propagation roots grow just under the soil surface and produce new growing points that will become next year’s aerial parts. These roots resemble Jerusalem artichokes. Storage roots are large and edible.
These edible roots contain inulin, an indigestible sugar, which means that although they have a sweet flavor, the roots contain fewer calories than would be expected.
The inulin and oligofructose are isolated from natural plant sources. They can be classified so as dietary fiber. They have beneficial effects on intestinal transit. The beneficial effects to health which has its consumption can be summarized as follows:
- They reduce the risk of atherosclerosis associated with insulin resistance and dyslipidemia (especially with hypertriglyceridemia), which as we know is associated with way power hipercalóricos and based mainly on Carbohydrates. Experimental data show that the oligofructose inhibits lipogénesis liver and consequently have an effect hipotrigliceridémico.
- They reduce the risk of osteoporosis, which improve the bioavailability of calcium. It has been shown that both increases bone mineral density and bone mass.
- The YACON has been used for sick patients with diabetes
There are just so many reasons why this ingredient will one day be so important to so many. And it is just one of the ingredients in Shakeology. You can also find Yacon Syrup and Powdered Yacon at Navitas Naturals.

Live, Love & Thrive
I purchased the May issues of The Oprah Magazine themed ‘Live, Love & Thrive’. I bought it because of the wonderful article “6 Superfoods That Will Change the Way You Eat” that was about the journey they took to Peru with Darin Olien the creator of Shakeology. Between the abundance of ads, of course, I found some incredible people that were really thriving in their lives. I think that it’s so important to remember that there are all sorts of reasons why we want to be healthy – one of which is to live a long life that is full of some sort of happiness and importance.
There was a wonderful group of pictures of either a group of girls, or one little girl, all in front of a house window through changing seasons. I’m guessing it’s the same girl as she ages. Next to it is one of my favorite quotes by Emily Dickinson, “We turn not older with years, but newer every day.” It’s so true and yet we choose to feel aged all on our own. What does that to us? I mean look at 17 year old Kelydra Welcker that created a process she calls “electrosorption” that removes the acid from water. She did this after finding that DuPont was releasing potentially harmful chemicals into the water of her hometown. Of the 21 year old Bethany Hamilton that 8 years after losing her arm to a shark attack is still surfing. Do you think these young ladies will fall into the same trap as so many of us have of letting ourselves get old? I doubt it.
I think part of the problem is that we are all supposed to be beautiful and glamorous at 60 – and that’s not how it’s going to be. First off not all of us want to have botox and $400 creams on our dressers. We have more important things to do like hitting the trail or planting a garden. Second – I think we spend too much time comparing ourselves to others instead of being happy with who we are both inside and out. So – besides taking the time to figure out who you are and who you want to be, just be. Eat fresh and healthy, take a walk or do a little TurboFire HIIT. Just enjoy who you are and live, love and thrive this month.

The first time
The first time I drank a Shakeology drink, I have to say I was a little nervous. They have a lot of ingredients in it, and I wasn’t sure if my body would freak out by drinking all of that “stuff”. And by stuff I don’t mean junk. I mean they have a lot of really great ingredients in it, but I’ve never had flax and chia in the same drink for sure. So I mixed up a greenberry shake and took a little sip. And by just a little I really mean one of the tiniest sips ever. I waited a few minutes – and I didn’t turn colors or anything. So of course I thought to myself, “well, let’s try that again.” So I took another drink – a much bigger regular drink this time. I waited a few more minutes. And yet again I did not metamorphosis into some strange monster. So I kept on drinking.
Now I have to say at first I though it has a weird almost cinnamon after kick to it, but after a few more drinks I was really digging this flavor for sure. By the time I was half way done with my drink, I was on the top of the world. It was as if someone gave me all of that energy that I always say I want to get from my daughter when she’s running around like a crazy person. And it wasn’t that jittery caffeine feeling either. It was just real, true energy.
Within the first week of drinking Shakeolog you will notice that your energy levels are soaring! Shakeology truly is an energy drink and a health program. It’s very useful to reduce toxins in your body. It is also a delicious meal replacement drink for those of you looking for a quick start to your morning, or perhaps you work late and don’t want all of the bad calories at the end of the day. There are many energy drinks suggested to you at every turn. 5 Hour Energy, Java Monster, Red Bull… what about any of these suggests health to you? I love that it includes all of those proprietary blends of digestive enzymes and prebiotics – because so many energy and meal replacement drinks are so hard on your stomach. Why would you want to continue drinking something that makes you just feel so icky. This is a mixed product that is an eliminator for all of those built up toxins in your body. And if you don’t eat completely lean and clean and organic, you have a lot of toxins. You’ll also find that as you continue to use Shakeology it will curb cravings. Who doesn’t want that?
I want you to give Shakeology a try because if you get to the end of the bag and it wasn’t what you expected or wanted, you can call and get a full refund on your purchase. What other health product gives you that sort of guarantee? It’s that commitment and the quality of ingredients that has allowed Shakeology in just two short years to become such a well known product, and loved by so many. Take your first time this week. You won’t be sorry.
And for those friends of mine that have already started using Shakeology, I recommend you become a Team Beachbody Coach. It’s a $39.95 investment, and you’ll get two websites for $14.95 per month. Even with that cost – with your 25% savings monthly you’ll break even partially though month two, and save an additional $150.00 over the rest of the year on your Shakeology purchases! Who doesn’t want to save money? And the opportunity being there, you may find that you fit with it. You share your Shakeology with a friend, and earn 25% of that purchase. Well that was easy, right? So consider the option and keep drinking nutrition! I’m proud of you being the ones that are ending the trend of obesity in our country and choosing instead to eat healthy organic foods and healthy supplements for a better life.

what’s the difference
People ask me all of the time about what the difference is between using any old protein drink or meal replacement product and Shakeology. I wanted to share for a minute just exactly what makes Shakeology so special.
Shakeology includes Amaranth, Camu-Camu, Goji berry, Sacha Inchi, sprouted quinoa and whey protein to give you your protein and amino acids. This helps the body build lean muscle, heal wounds, improve skin and hair. It also supports optimal brain function, mental clarity, improved mood, and reduced cravings. Who here couldn’t use some reduced cravings? Your brain needs help after the problems we are dealing with in part to the large amounts of sugar and trans fats in our food system. Kelly Brownell has long studied the relationship between rising levels of obesity in the U.S. and the way our food is grown, processed, packaged, and sold. He did an incredible interview that showcases how big food industry is using the addictive nature of these processed food products to do the same things that worked for Big Tobacco. Shakeology becomes addictive only in the fact that you feel so good eating something so nutritionally wonderful!
Shakeology also includes Açai berry, Acerola cherry, bilberry, Camu-Camu, Goji berry, grape seed extract, green tea, Maca root, and pomegranate. These “Red Super Food” antioxidants are what will help reduce oxidative damage in the body caused by free radicals. Oxidative damage is a major cause for degenerative (aging) conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure (which can lead to stroke), dementia, and arthritis. And the long use of our environmental toxins we are more likely than ever to need to reduce this oxidative damage that has been done in our bodies, and is still be done every day.
Now just getting those incredible results for our bodies would be enough, but not for Shakeology! Shakeology also has Barley grass, blue-green algae, Chia seeds, Chlorella, flax, grape seed extract, Hydrilla, spinach, Spirulina, sprouted quinoa and wheat grass those Phytonutrients “Green Super Foods”. These phytonutrients boost your immunity, help fight diseases, can slow down the aging process, detoxify the body, and have alkalizing properties. The processing of our foods is destroying thousands of healing phytonutrients everyday. The USDA wants the use of radiation on all fresh produce. They claim the number of food-borne illness outbreaks that happen each year could be substantially reduced. It all makes sense until you realize that by destroying the nutritional value of all fresh produce sold in the United States, an irradiation policy would greatly increase the number of people killed by infections and chronic diseases that are prevented by the natural medicines found in fresh produce! You need these nutrients.
Shakeology also includes the adaptogens Ashwagandha, Astragalus, Cordyceps, holy basil leaf, Maca root, Reishi mushroom, Schisandra and Suma root. These plant derived agents help to adapt the body or protect it from stress. Adaptogenic herbs are unique from other substances in their ability to balance endocrine hormones and the immune system. The stress hormone cortisol is created by stress and can be reduced with the use of adaptogens. Any woman in her 30′s to 50′s that has struggled to lose weight knows that stress is one of the enemies of fat loss. The more stress, the more fat, the more stress.
And the prebiotics Pea fiber and yacon root are in Shakeology to promote better intestinal health. Stimulate growth of friendly bacteria for better digestion. Did you know that many of us are not getting the nutrition our bodies crave due to the high levels of bad bacteria in our guts. Years of eating “antibiotics” in our foods and overuse of it in the medical world are a part of this. In order to be able to absorb your vitamins and minerals you need a healthy gut. An unhealthy gut is one reason so many children are being diagnosed with ADHD. Malnutrition has the same symptoms as ADHD. Amylase, bromelain from pineapple, cellulose, lactase, lipase, papain from papaya and protease the digestive enzymes are also in there to help the body break down foods and increase absorption of all of those good nutrients we need.
Why wouldn’t you want to try Shakeology? You can enjoy this healthy nutrition RISK FREE for 30 days
