Who am I?

A lot of people ask you during the day, “What do you do?”… how do you answer? This is so essential for getting the successful results that you are looking for in your business. But do you know how to answer it? Do you know who you are?

I am a wife and mom – first and foremost. Everything else in my life revolves around those people, and my goals are aligned to make sure that I’m keeping that the top priority. I’m a life, wellness, holistic food and fitness coach… well that’s a mouthful. Otherwise put, I’m what they call a Holistic Lifestyle Coach. Even as a Holistic Lifestyle Coach I need this clarification to keep me grounded and to keep my goals and action plans elevated to something higher. When you start letting the rest into the equation, you’re creating chaos, clutter and dysfunction.

So my family living a balanced secure life is my top priority. How do I use that in my overall goal creating and my life mapping? I make sure that I am active in creating a security of a happy balanced life for them at all times. That means I’m always available to them, my business is aligned to creating that, that I will remain healthy to be there for them, and that I manage my home and my financials to give them that feeling of a secure family environment always. That’s called aligning to your priorities.

My focus in my business is to help you to figure out your soul purpose, and then to be a part of designing your lifestyle to drive that purpose in a healthy manner that reflects your priorities. Let’s say you are a lawyer, married, 2.5 kids and an active husband. I’m going to help you to define how to drive your career, while letting your family know that they are priorities, by creating boundaries that align with your home life success, and by helping you find the right nutritional and fitness plan to help you keep up with it all. When you finish working with me you will find that your life although fuller and richer, is now more simplified and that you are happier than you thought possible.

How do I do this and why should it matter to you? A new survey says 46% of moms are unhappy. Motherhood is challenging enough, then you add on top of it trying to manage your relationship with your spouse, your friends, your church, your associates – and then business on top of that? Right. You see my point. Without a clear plan and definition in your life you just won’t find the ability to be as happy as you could be. Don’t you want to be happy?

Do you respect the blessings you have in your life? By living in the manner that I teach you to live you will learn that the biggest obstacle we have is that we don’t respect our blessings. Think about your relationship with money. When your power bill comes in do you curse that it’s already due again? Or are you thinking how great it is that your abundance allows you to live in the home you are in, pay for the power bill, and live the life you are leading. It’s all in the way you look at it, and that directly changes your manifestation of where you want to get to.

When you’ve work through our Soulutions Program you have found the direction of your purpose, and the way to develop your goals to have attainable successes. You have most likely also figured out who you are authentically. Yet you still fill like you are a part of the spin cycle because you haven’t figured out how to define the rest of your lifestyle to completely align itself to your purpose. That’s okay. It happens to the best of us.

So now I am excited to introduce our new program coming in September – Living with E.P.A. – Elevated Purpose Alignment. This group course of 12 weeks will go beyond what you’ve worked on before. You will want to have gone through our Holistic Food Basics free course, because you will not be eating any processed foods during 80% of the 12 week program. The where will come

It’s hard for us to define our lifestyle when we don’t have any idea where we are going. A great life is one that makes a distinctive impact and delivers superior performance over a long period of time – it’s the same as a great organization. With a business this may be something you can define based on your fiscal results. But for your own personal life you need to judge things based on your mission. Are you making an impact, and thus are you heading in the right direction? If you don’t know who you are, you don’t know what your purpose is. If you don’t know what that purpose is you don’t know where your mission is going to take you.

For me it wasn’t anything great that changed my perspective, it was something small. It was just getting up every morning and working out. Taking that first step every day. I realized that I was a person of passion – and I had something to share. I starting just by sharing the basics of life coaching and business coaching. The more I delved into it the more I realized that it’s all connected… LIFE… BODY… SOUL… NUTRITION… it’s the keys to so much of our journey. Just getting up and moving was the beginning for me.

I love that Jim Collins says, “it is important to understand that big does not equal great, and great does not equal big.”

Get up every morning and just be you. Right out of the gate. See where it gets you tomorrow. Once you take that first step and get the who and the what… you find you are staring straight at the where with a big directional arrow!! Follow it. It’s the life you are waiting for.

Turbo Instructor Training for me, yay!

Chalene Johnson, the creator of Turbo Kick®, is always looking for ways to increase the effectiveness and the fun factor of everyone’s workout. That’s why she invented Turbo Kick®.

It’s a combination of intense kickboxing moves, as well as, dance moves all perfectly choreographed to high energy and motivating music. It’s the ultimate cardiovascular challenge that’s a unique blend of intense intervals strength/endurance training, and a relaxing cool-down. Turbo Kick® requires no previous kickboxing experience or equipment. You’ll have more fun teaching Turbo Kick® than any other format. (and the Turbo wear is so fun… I am so Turbo Fierce!) Chalene knows how much you love Turbo Kick® and want to share that love with others. The Turbo Kick® Instructor Training is the answer to all of that and more! So of course with my love of all things Turbo, I spent yesterday at a Turbo Kick® Instructor Training event with the amazing Shukria Stewart.  This girl is off the hook! She’s got amazing style and is such a great instructor that you just feel like everything you are getting out of the training is exactly what you’d get if Chalene were sitting right in front of you. And talk about fun!!! This girl turns it into a PARTY! As is should be. Right?

*me doing my TurboKick Practical Testing on the far end in the green

A year ago, seriously even six months ago I don’t think I could have done this training. But in January I got Chalene’s Beachbody workout, TurboFire, and those HIIT workouts have really increased my endurance. I had to use my inhaler only twice, and even then I kept going!

You know people always put themselves into boxes that they feel like they can’t get out of. It’s sad for me because I know that you really can accomplish anything you put your mind to. And life is short. It really is.

I was friends with a really great gal in high school. And believe me when I say she had overcome a lot – and really just inspired me. She was so fun and not afraid to be who she was. I really looked up to her. She was an age older and her sister was my age. Totally different personalities. Her sister was very sporty, very reserved and a little more quiet, but still a lot of fun. The sister was diagnosed with cancer this year, and yesterday I was told that she’s been giving 3 weeks. Three weeks. She’s my age. I look at my 5 year old daughter and my heart just breaks thinking about her kids, and all of the milestones ahead. You never know what life is going to bring to you, and so I just urge you to stop waiting for life to happen to you.

She was one of those girls that lived life – and she’ll leave behind no regrets if a miracle doesn’t happen in the next few weeks. Could you say the same? Go after something you thought was never possible this week. I urge you to live the dream. I never thought I could do something like I did this weekend – and I feel incredible having accomplished it. Get out there, do it, and then share it with me. I want to know about your LIFE.

Cookies and crumbs

Whenever I go without a treat for a few days I really start to feel like my life is lacking. I’m a sweet tooth just waiting for a sweet. Constantly. I need it – not want it – need it. So I try to find things that are healthy instead. First off yesterday I made some incredible Hemp Nut Chocolate Crunch Cookies.  My daughter said that they were the best cookies she has ever had. The recipe was very, very easy as well.

Ingredients:
1 organic egg (I only had egg whites the day I made them)
1 cup all natural hemp nut butter
1/2 tsp baking soda (forgot on first batch and they were more crispy)
1 cup hemp seeds
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup of cocoa powder
Handful of chopped dark chocolate chunks
Directions:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
2. Spoon out small ball size portions and with a fork, flatten onto a parchment papered cookie sheet.
3. Cook in the oven at 325°F until golden brown (about 8 – 10 minutes depending on the oven).
That’s it!
Enjoy!
So next time I think I’m going to try a borrowed recipe from Yoga Is Yummy.  I can’t do many bars from the store because I have so many allergies and because they are full of garbage. So what better than to make your own Yummy Nutri-Grain Bars? I  can’t wait to try them. I’m really excited because there are only seven ingredients – I am going to do either barley or spelt flour rather than a regular flour so I’ll share how they turn out. I am also thinking about using honey or agave as a replacement for the brown sugar, but we’ll see. In the mean time take a look and see if it’s a recipe you might enjoy for yourself. You will learn to love the Yoga Is Yummy blog as much as I do!
